Last Friday night I joined my friend Allison in Salt Lake for an opera, Fidelio. It was in the capital theater, which was so fun, like a real opera house with chandeliers and the cherub statues above the stage and the balcony seats that come right up next to the stage! It felt pretty fancy! I really enjoyed it, too, opera singers are some of the most talented people in the world, I think. I went up to Salt Lake early because I wanted to beat rush hour traffic, so while I waited for Allison to get off work I visited This is the Place park. There was a statue of a rather spooky character, see if you can guess! And I took a picture of the monument in front of the mountains so you can see how they have been changing color this fall. The camera cannot quite capture how brilliant the colors are, but it will have to do.
